Position Overview
We are seeking a forward-thinking and sustainability-driven Circular Textile Designer to join our design and innovation team. The Circular Textile Designer will be responsible for creating textile products and materials with circularity in mind—designing for durability, recyclability, biodegradability, and minimal environmental impact. This role requires a strong understanding of textile design, material science, and sustainable practices, as well as creativity to push boundaries in circular fashion and textile innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Design textiles and fabric solutions that align with circular economy principles, including recyclability, reusability, and biodegradability.
Research and experiment with sustainable fibers, dyes, and finishing techniques.
Collaborate with R&D, product development, and sustainability teams to ensure material choices support both performance and environmental goals.
Integrate zero-waste and closed-loop design approaches into product development.
Partner with suppliers, mills, and recycling facilities to validate material lifecycle pathways.
Create prototypes and testing samples that meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.
Conduct trend and market research to anticipate consumer demand for sustainable textiles.
Prepare design documentation, mood boards, and material libraries for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with sustainability standards, certifications, and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Material Science, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in textile or fabric design, with a focus on sustainability or innovation.
Strong knowledge of sustainable fibers, yarns, dyes, and textile production processes.
Familiarity with circular economy principles and life cycle assessment (LCA).
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CLO3D, CAD for textiles).
Strong aesthetic sensibility combined with technical knowledge of fabrics.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functions and supply chain partners.
