Overview

Graymont is seeking a Remote Operations Supervisor at our Petaling Jaya Remote Operations Center (ROC) in Malaysia. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance & Process Engineering, the Remote Operations Supervisor will lead a team of engineers responsible for remote monitoring and operation of plants through Graymont's process control system. The role includes advancing technology and continuous improvement initiatives to scale automation in the region as part of Global Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to a team of Remote Operations Engineers to ensure safe, continuous operation, product quality, and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate globally with plant personnel and Remote Operations Engineers across ROCs to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence and standardized global operations across ROCs.
  • Oversee monitoring and control of plant production equipment; make recommendations to meet operational and quality requirements.
  • Maintain shift operation records; facilitate information exchange between ROCs and onsite personnel, maintenance technicians, supervisors, and process engineers.
  • Monitor and analyze process trends; drive process efficiencies; contribute to special projects.
  • Work with Graymont’s Technical Services Group and plants to expand and enhance automation strategy.
  • Assist in defining and implementing standards for operating processes remotely.
  • Evaluate performance and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.
  • Review new hire applications, interview, and select new team members with regional leadership.
  • Identify, develop, improve, and communicate best practices within Graymont.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor7s Degree in Engineering (experience in advanced process control considered).
  • 10+ years industrial experience in manufacturing / processing with focus on Process Control Systems and / or industrial automation.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to implement innovative solutions promptly.
  • Self-directed and highly motivated; minimal direct guidance.
  • Effective communication skills; ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft programs; background in Electrical, PLC programming, instrumentation, automation, and HMI controls is a strong asset.
  • Flexible with working hours; willing to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%).
  • Excellent English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
