We are looking for someone to lead the Finance function at GETB, working closely with our Regional Shared Services Centre (RSC). This role requires close coordination with the Head of Business Finance and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Job Purpose
The job entails performing the final review and sign-off of report submissions, working with the CFO and Business Finance team to set the overall strategic direction for GETB, establishing the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with RSC, and providing oversight of RSC operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform the final review and sign-off of report submissions.
- Work with the CFO and Business Finance team to set the overall strategic direction for GETB.
- Establish the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with RSC to meet customer, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Provide oversight of RSC operations and ensure business continuity plans are in place to mitigate potential risks.
- Advise on local tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
- Define accounting policies and reporting standards.
- Oversee transactions that require professional judgment.
- Establish operational policies and controls to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Approve high-value payments, manage banking relationships, and oversee financial risk controls.
- Oversee governance and compliance for finance platforms and systems.
- Manage exception cases and handle escalations as needed.
- Be a part of the Senior Management Committee, Asset Liability Committee, Board Audit Committee, and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process Committee.
- Support SMT members in their engagements with Group Finance.
- Be part of the working group for the sustainability Council to achieve the company’s net zero aspirations.
- Work with key stakeholders to proactively shape the organisation’s culture and conduct environment.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and technologies.
- Highlights any potential concerns / risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
Our Requirements
A recognised degree in Accounting or a professional qualification in a related field.Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within a Takaful or Insurance company.Strong business acumen with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.People-oriented and customer-focused.Strong communication skills in both written and verbal with solid presentation and negotiation skills.IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to perform under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.A collaborative team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.Demonstrates alignment with the organisation’s core values through expected behaviours.High level of integrity takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.#J-18808-Ljbffr
