- Job Summary The Senior Executive, Trade Ops-LC will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of Letter of Credit (LC) transactions, ensuring compliance with international trade finance rules and bank policies. This role involves managing complex LC operations, providing expert advice to clients, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the Trade Operations department. Job Responsibilities
- Process and verify various types of Letter of Credit (LC) transactions, including issuance, amendments, discrepancies, and settlements, adhering to UCP 600, ISBP 745, and other relevant ICC rules and regulations.
- Conduct thorough documentary checks to ensure compliance with LC terms and conditions, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., Relationship Managers, Legal, Compliance) and external parties (e.g., corporate clients, correspondent banks) to facilitate smooth transaction execution and resolve issues.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on LC structures, documentation requirements, and trade finance best practices.
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of complex LC transactions, ensuring timely processing and escalation of critical matters.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the LC operations to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve client satisfaction.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members on LC processing and trade finance principles.
- Ensure strict adherence to all internal bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to trade finance and anti-money laundering (AML).
- Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the bank's trade finance capabilities.
- Prepare and analyze reports related to LC activities and performance.
- Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade finance operations, with a strong focus on Letter of Credit (LC) processing, preferably within a commercial bank.
- In-depth knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP 745, URC 522, URR 725, and other relevant ICC rules and international trade finance practices.
- CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) qualification is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to interpret complex LC terms and conditions and identify discrepancies accurately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with trade finance processing systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong commitment to compliance and risk management.##
