Job description

Purpose Statement :

The process engineer provides technical expertise throughout the SMT manufacturing process. As the key liaison between APAC sites and global teams, they are responsible for improving regional metrics, offering technical support and guidance to improve the quality, yield, and manufacturing process efficiency with smart manufacturing concepts.

Key Job Accountabilities :

  • Manage and mentor a team of stencil designers, ensuring on time delivery and zero defect, ensuring each individual is empowered to deliver on their responsibilities with full accountability
  • Collaborate with regional and global engineering teams on process development, equipment and assembly material qualifications.
  • Spearhead the design and execution of strategic process improvement programs aimed at enhancing overall operational efficiency, including quality, output, yield, and cost.
  • Responsible for the successful deployment of global standards to streamline processes and standardize best practices across the region
  • Coordinate the implementation of Engineering metrics and standardization in line with SOPs, WIs, and SFTs.
  • Serve as a technical SME for the regional engineering team, offering guidance and training while managing high-level escalations with a focus on timely and effective resolution.

Education / Experience Qualifications :

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science is required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher is preferred.
  • Minimum Five (5) years of related experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Intermediate decision making, problem solving skills
  • Intermediate verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience in stencil design and optimization
  • Strong analytical and statistical analysis skills; Statistical Process Control Software Skills
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with team members, customers, and suppliers
  • Experience in process and machine in SMT production environment : solder paste printer, solder paste inspection machine, component placement, reflow oven, and automated optical inspection machine
