Job Description
- Lead the Product Engineering team in the development, implementation, and management of repair schemes for components across multiple engine platforms (e.g., CFM56, V2500, CF6-80, TRENT series).
- Serve as the technical authority for key inspection and repair processes, including welding, machining, heat treatment, and coating applications (e.g., HVOF, Plasma Spray).
- Oversee the full repair lifecycle-from initial development and approval through execution and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all engineering documentation aligns with OEM standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Value Stream teams to troubleshoot technical issues on the shop floor and implement effective corrective actions.
- Coordinate with OEMs, customers, and regulatory bodies (CAAM, FAA, EASA) to ensure compliance and support external repair approvals.
- Drive initiatives focused on cost reduction, yield enhancement, and process optimisation.
- Mentor and coach engineering staff to build technical depth and develop leadership capabilities within the team.
- Adhere to and promote Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, standards, and best practices at all times.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Section Manager - Product Engineering should have :
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline (Master's degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus).
- At least 7 years of experience in a Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) environment.
- Minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership, supervisory, or team management role.
- Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of OEM documentation and compliance requirements under CAAM, FAA, and EASA Part 145 regulations.
- Familiarity with major engine platforms and manufacturers.
- Proven experience in aerospace component repair, including substantiation, qualification, and continuous process improvement.
- Strong technical knowledge of aerospace component design, metallurgy, and material behaviour.
- Demonstrated ability in repair development, project management, and solving complex engineering challenges.
- Proficient in engineering tools and software, such as CAD or SolidWorks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
