Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and commercially-minded Legal Executive to manage our corporate legal affairs. You will be instrumental in safeguarding our company's interests as we expand our manufacturing and service operations. This role requires a professional with a strong background in banking and legal sectors, capable of handling a wide range of legal matters including complex agreements, financing, investment, and employment law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agreement Matters : Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including sales contracts, distributorship agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and procurement / supply contracts related to our patented technology.
  • Loan & Financing Matters : Manage all legal aspects of corporate financing, including reviewing, drafting, and advising on loan agreements, credit facility documentation, trade finance, and security arrangements.
  • Investment Matters : Provide legal support for investment activities, potential joint ventures, and M&A, including conducting due diligence and reviewing investment agreements.
  • Employment Matters : Advise on Malaysian employment law, draft employment contracts and staff handbooks, and manage the legal aspects of employee relations and industrial disputes.
  • Compliance : Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations, providing proactive advice to management on legal and regulatory risks.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Industry Background : Must have experience from the banking industry (specifically in handling corporate loans / financing) and / or in-house experience in a corporate legal department .
  • Core Competencies :
  • Proven expertise in contract law, corporate finance, and loan matters .

  • Strong working knowledge of investment agreements and due diligence processes.
  • In-depth understanding of Malaysian employment law and industrial relations.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice.
  • High integrity and ability to work independently.
  • Preferred : Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology-focused company is a significant advantage.
