The Assistant Teacher may be assigned to a particular class or to a year group and work with multiple classes. In addition to supporting student learning, the Assistant Teacher plays an important role in helping to care for the wellbeing and safety of students, either in the class or when supervising on the playground, or in the cafeteria. As a learning organisation, professional growth is very important at CHIS. All staff take part in regular collaborative meetings and over time, staff are supported to systematically develop their professional skills and qualifications.
