Overview
Associate Director, Regulatory Identification Unit (RIU) – Country. Lead a team to support managing regulatory change activities in countries within RIU scope. Understand the Bank’s Risk Taxonomy, Bank Policies and Standards, and the impact regulatory developments have on these. Lead a team performing high level applicability assessments of regulatory developments and allocate these to the correct impacted stakeholders through a workflow tool or manual process. Provide quality assurance and proactive oversight while ensuring that Horizon Scanning and RIU monitoring processes are well controlled and related risks are timely identified and escalated to the RIU Director. Responsibilities
Newly created role for 2025 within the Risk and Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance (CFCC) COO team as an Associate Director, RIU reporting to Director, RIU. RIU’s mandate is to provide centralized horizon scanning for Risk and CFCC regulatory developments and changes, and initial curation of regulatory content to RCT, Policy Owners / Standard Owners and Country CFCC Teams, for an agreed list of key regulatory authorities for countries within RIU scope. Accountable oversight of the day-to-day operation of the RIU, management of operational performance and resolution of issues as required; responsible for coordination of RIU operations across all clusters of countries within the RIU scope. Work closely with GPO delegates on ongoing refinement of the horizon scanning process and system. Support the implementation of the strategy, define the process and operating model across relevant frameworks and RIU improvement initiatives to develop effective solutions and maximize operational effectiveness, in line with Risk and CFCC regulatory change targets. Collaborate with and support the Director, RIU in managing the delivery of BAU Process and Controls of the RIU. Ensure alignment and clear communication throughout the delivery of work assigned as part of Reg to Policy initiatives. RIU goals and strategic tasks are communicated and cascaded to team members in their area of responsibility. Business
Identify external regulatory change and changes to the Bank’s business model to ensure the right stakeholders can act on the changes. Oversee RIU Managers and management of the team’s operational performance and resolution of issues as required. Act as a key contact point for RIU matters. Processes
Lead a team of RIU Managers to perform horizon scanning and initial curation of regulatory content published by key regulatory authorities. Guide RIU Managers in assigning Principal Risk Type (PRT) and Risk Sub-Type (RST) for applicable publications and assign priority based on regulatory authority and publication type. Identify and assess all laws, rules and regulations to which the Bank is subject across key PRTs with the aid of vendor products. Disseminate necessary assessment and impact information by assigning and recording ownership of regulatory publications using an agreed allocation matrix. Coordinate RIU operations across all clusters and drive BAU for operating efficiency and effectiveness. Refine horizon scanning processes in response to stakeholder and user feedback. Maintain and drive periodic review of exceptions as part of SLA and RIU Memorandum of Understanding to ensure continued accuracy. Review and resolve allocation disputes that arise from day-to-day activities; escalate significant risks and issues to the Director, RIU. Support the Director, RIU in provisioning and constructing meaningful aggregated MI / analytics for regulatory identification, horizon scanning, dissemination, visibility, implementation, insights and proactive decision making. Ensure appropriate and timely escalations to relevant governance committees (RCOF, GNFRC, Regional and Country Business Risk Committees). Regulatory & Business Conduct

Minimum of 8 - 12 years of experience within Banking or Financial Services Knowledge in Risk management, Regulatory Compliance is required Experience in managing complex projects and stakeholders Knowledge of regulatory identification and change management requirements Understanding of agile ways of working and delivering transformation Strong data management, analytical and MI design and production skills Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and influencing abilities Ability to collaborate and work across a broad range of stakeholders Ability to manage geographically dispersed stakeholder base with multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity Multi-lingual capability (a good to have) Highly disciplined and structured with an outcome-oriented mindset Exemplary integrity, ethics, independence and resilience Experience in managing individuals and teams in operational and project environments Role Specific Technical Competencies
