Logistics Customs & Trade Compliance Business Ops Manager
Job Summary
The role of the Supply Operations (SO) function is to Plan, Source, Make and Deliver HP products and services for our channel partners, customers and internal use on a global basis. The Customs and Trade Compliance Business Ops Manager will handle extensive knowledge in Customs Regulatory compliance in accordance to Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) Act, consultancy of customs regulations, freight coordination, LSP management, and collaboration with internal / external partners including government bodies, suppliers, intermediaries, third‑party service providers, customers, and in‑sourced operations. Applies subject matter knowledge to solve business issues, recommends alternatives, works on complex problems, may act as team or project leader, and exercises judgment within policies.
Responsibilities
- Provides complex‑level logistics supporting high‑volume manufacturing operation.
- Solves complex issues and drives tactical / strategic initiatives, including leading process standardisations, executing program strategies, coordinating integration of small acquisitions.
- Manages day‑to‑day LMW Customs Liaison job including GPB application, follow‑up, exemption and licence renewal / mantenance, ensuring timely customs reports submission.
- Enhances existing process on Customs and Trade Compliance and stays current on regulatory changes.
- Monitors programs, delivery solutions, key metrics and process‑oriented tasks; identifies issues and proposes solutions with limited guidance.
- Collaborates with or leads teams to maintain and enhance current business objectives such as cost‑management, cost‑saving initiatives and operational excellence.
- Provides independent, analytic and strategic support to logistics operation.
- Manages 3rd Party Logistics including insourced operations, logistics service providers, chemical suppliers, hazardous waste suppliers, and mentors lower‑level contributors.
- Participates in data analytics and future supply‑chain transformation as part of Industry 4.0 vision.
Education & Experience
First‑level university degree or equivalent industry experience.Typically 3‑5 years of experience in a manufacturing operation’s logistics customs and trade compliance.Vast knowledge in LMW & SST Act and regulations.Well versed with customs monthly reporting for LMW, M1 / M2 & M3 / M4 reporting.Freight and warehousing knowledge an added advantage.Able to multitask and handle pressure constructively.Willingness to travel & work with partners across 3 operation sites for alignment & improvement plans.Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of HP’s materials & distribution processes.Good knowledge of freight management, plus international freight & customs an added advantage.Strong communication skills (customs regulation issues, negotiation).Mastery of English and local language.Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).Experience with SAP system.Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication & presentation skills.Excellent team and project management skills.Exposure to data analytics & reporting tools (Power BI, JMP) an added advantage.Fast learner, continuous improvement, data analysis, inventory management, KPIs, SAP applications, supply chain, warehousing.Cross‑Org Skills
