Job Summary

The Head of IT is responsible for overseeing ongoing IT operations and procedures within the organization, including developing the necessary competencies of the Group IT Team, optimizing team utilization, and ensuring quality assurance for consistent implementation and delivery of IT projects. They actively participate in mentoring, training, and identifying hiring needs to maintain an appropriate skills mix within the team. Collaborating closely with the Head of Group IT, they drive multiple IT projects and initiatives across cross‑functional teams, including IT, business units, key users, vendors, and service providers. They play a pivotal role in proposing IT roadmaps, managing project introductions, and ensuring successful system implementation and adoption. With a strong background in technology‑driven environments and a deep understanding of digital transformation concepts, they possess strong organizational skills, strategic acumen, and a talent for project coordination and delegation.

Additionally, they are responsible for overseeing infrastructure audits , ensuring cybersecurity measures are implemented effectively, and maintaining compliance with internal and external IT governance standards . They advocate for agile project management practices to deliver high‑quality outcomes efficiently, while ensuring effective governance, data protection, and reporting to stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

1. Strategic

  • Propose the IT Roadmap based on the Group's direction and needs.
  • Align all IT projects and initiatives with the Group's ESG Framework.
  • Ensure project quality and delivery within budget and timeline.
  • Adhere to corporate policies, guidelines, sustainability standards, and IT compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with and report to senior stakeholders, ensuring governance and reporting needs are satisfied with concise communication and transparency regarding project issues and decisions.
  • Establish and maintain good and effective relationships, including with Business Units, and work collaboratively with a diversity of stakeholder groups and individuals.
  • Advise Business Units on the implications of specific system design decisions.
  • Plan and oversee cybersecurity strategy , ensuring data protection, threat prevention, and incident response readiness.
  • Conduct and review infrastructure audits regularly to ensure system reliability, operational continuity, and compliance with IT governance frameworks.

2. Operational

  • Ensure Business Units receive quality and timely service delivery from the Group IT Team.
  • Create and maintain an environment that enables high-performing team cultures that embrace diversity, delivery, ownership, teamwork, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and manage team utilization, including forecasting.
  • Plan and allocate resources for daily operations and project implementations.
  • Track progress including identifying issues and dependencies and driving resolution.
  • Analyze, implement, and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Design and implement practices to improve team delivery cadence to reach desired outcomes efficiently.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure , ensuring system uptime, network security, and smooth operations across all sites.
  • Ensure cybersecurity controls and compliance policies are implemented and maintained, in line with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., PDPA, ISO standards).
  • Serve all subsidiaries, which may include travelling to other locations other than HQ (Shah Alam, KL, etc.).
  • Job Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent.
  • 8–10 years of experience in IT Project Management or managing multiple projects at once while managing dependencies and aligning stakeholders.
  • Experience in agile and continuous IT project delivery, identifying potential for process improvements and digital footprint adoption.
  • Experience in infrastructure audits , cybersecurity governance , and IT compliance .
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills to effectively deliver and report on progress, risks, issues, capacity, and costs.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence exceptionally well with various senior-level stakeholders, with potentially conflicting business requirements, to define a clear strategy which best serves the overall Group’s direction.
  • Prior experience working in a leadership role to drive the success of a technology and system implementation.
  • Experience in driving digital transformation projects in an organization.
