Job Description :
The Technical Solutions Manager (TSM) is responsible for the comprehensive management and delivery of technical solutions for aircraft modifications and repairs within Airbus Part 145 Maintenance Organisation and Major Repairs & Working Parties department. This role involves leading a sub-multifunctional team, ensuring projects are delivered on time and with quality in accordance with Airbus procedures, and managing technical risks.
Primary Responsibilities :
Project Management & Leadership : Leads the sub-multifunctional team responsible for technical activities related to aircraft modifications or repairs . Drives the anticipation, management, and delivery of global coherence of technical solutions . Leads risk management for technical activities, ensuring mitigation plans are anticipated .
Repair & Modification Execution : Coordinates technical preparation, including Work Orders, and identifies special tooling and consumables, ensuring all necessary materials are ready, with particular attention to long lead time items. Ensures repair definition, work cards, parts, and tools are ready on time, with work cards specifically being produced on time, fit for purpose, and independently checked. Develops and implements an optimized Working Party Planning, including team size configuration, with the strategic objective of maintaining a competitive market position, and rigorously monitors its execution during repair embodiment. Provides 'back office' or on-site support during the embodiment phase, managing Defect Reports, Additional Work Orders, and approved data.
On-site Advisory : Performs on-site damage assessment . Provides 'back office' or on-site support during the MAKE embodiment phase, managing Defect Reports, Additional Work Orders, and approved data . Assists customers on-site with engineering advice when the repair is performed by the customer . Acts as the Airbus / Customer interface, managing customer expectations and sharing Airbus Policies & Way of working .
Supplier & Subcontractor Management : Manages BUY embodiment solutions by issuing Technical Specifications for Call For Tender and contributing to MRO selection . Coordinates the embodiment input of Suppliers and Part 145 subcontractors . Issues specifications for required outsourced engineering services (Technical Services, MRO, GTAS, EOs, etc.) and pilots their definition, CFT, production, and receipt of deliverables .
Quality Assurance : Supports repair process quality gates. Proactively launches and leads PPS in case of audit findings or repetitive non-performance. Support internal and external audits related to the Major Repair activity.
Safety & Compliance Oversight : Reports any Safety occurrence and can act as SMS representative.
Standby Service : Contributes to the SBCR stand by service (24 / 24H and 365 days a year), representing 4 / 5 weeks a year .
