Work Type : Full-Time | Permanent | Onsite – Singapore / Malaysia

Experience Required : 4–5 Years (Mechanical Engineering – Diesel Engines / Generators)

Compensation : MYR 85,000 – 100,000 (Base)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Solutions Engineer to oversee and deliver mechanical engineering solutions for major Data Center power generation projects across the APAC region. The role focuses on defining, designing, and executing mechanical systems for diesel genset enclosures, including cooling, fuel, and ventilation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all mechanical solution engineering activities for large‑scale data center projects in APAC.
  • Define and manage complete mechanical system scope from initiation to onsite delivery.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to define mechanical scope in tenders.
  • Review and clarify customer specifications, technical documents, and tender requirements.
  • Coordinate with factories and suppliers to finalize scope of supply and obtain proposals.

Solution Engineering

  • Design and define mechanical requirements for genset enclosures (cooling, fuel, ventilation).
  • Prepare engineering drawings, technical documentation, and calculations.
  • Select and verify suitable equipment / suppliers based on technical and cost considerations.
  • Use engineering tools, technical databases, and standards to ensure design accuracy.
  • Verify shop drawings, datasheets, P&IDs, and related technical documents.
  • Finalize scope, raise purchase requisitions, and support procurement activities.
  • Support project execution teams in resolving mechanical‑related technical issues.
  • Participate in design reviews and lessons‑learned sessions to improve future projects.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the diesel engine / generator industry, with successful project track record.
  • Strong understanding of cooling, fuel, and ventilation systems for diesel generator sets.
  • Hands‑on expertise in 2D / 3D CAD software.
  • Proficiency in English (written & spoken).
  • Valid Work Visa (Singapore or Malaysia).
  • Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of engineering calculations for genset mechanical systems (e.g., sizing).
  • Familiarity with data centers, switchgear, and electrical power protection systems.
  • Understanding of Asian business practices and cultural nuances.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, and adaptable with willingness to travel when required.
