Role Summary

The Senior Sales Engineer (Snr. SE) leads technical relationships across a regional territory, partnering with prospects, customers and channel partners to develop and implement strategies that deliver business value and drive incremental revenue.

What You Will Do

  • Gain technical closure of sales opportunities from customers and partners.
  • Deliver channel technical enablement to certify Sophos solutions within the partner ecosystem.
  • Develop channel partners and MSPs to deliver solutions across enterprise, mid‑market and commercial territories, mapping to the Sophos platform and services.
  • Drive sales revenue to meet regional targets.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to partners and customers, working with Account Managers and local partners / integrators.
  • Act as the primary technical advisor and security consultant for key enterprise accounts and partners in Malaysia.
  • Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof‑of‑concept engagements to showcase Sophos capabilities across Endpoint, XDR, Network, Cloud, and MDR.
  • Articulate the business value, ROI, and strategic alignment of Sophos solutions.

Customer Relationships

  • Advise customers and prospects, delivering high‑level solution design and strategy across Sophos products and services.
  • Recognize new business opportunities and qualify pipelines of opportunities.
  • Develop technical relationships with security operations, IT architects, security managers and executives as defined in account plans.
  • Maintain in‑depth understanding of industry sectors, changing needs, and key cyber‑security drivers.
  • Ensure solutions are deployed effectively by partners or Sophos Professional Services to guarantee customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and document specific problems at prospects and customers that can be solved through Sophos solutions.
  • Own and complete the technical sales cycle from early opportunity qualification to technical closure.
  • Participate actively in account and territory planning, influencing plans with account managers and channel partners.
  • Partner / Integrator Relationships

  • Work with aligned channel partners in territory to establish long‑term relationships, proactively driving pipeline and opportunity closure.
  • Deliver technical partner enablement that builds and maintains partner capability with Sophos solutions and certifications.
  • Present Sophos vision and technical strategy clearly and consistently to technical and business audiences within the Sophos channel partner community.
  • Identify opportunities to align with partners and validate solutions, allowing channel partners to lead with Sophos solutions and services.
  • Develop, grow, and maintain a network of key channel partner technical contacts.
  • What You Will Bring

  • Presales experience and excellent technical knowledge within cyber security, endpoint, and networking (Firewall, ZTNA, Access Points, XDR / EDR, SIEM, SOAR, incident response).
  • Strong experience with a variety of IT technologies and security solutions in the IT security business.
  • Knowledge of email flow (Exchange / Domino), cloud solutions, AV and anti‑SPAM products.
  • Experience in SOC operations – IT process automation, orchestration, managed detection and response.
  • Knowledge and experience with the cyber‑threat landscape.
  • Demonstrable experience with Windows, macOS, Linux, routers / switches.
  • Awareness of competitive solutions and solution‑selling strategies.
  • Collaborative ability with Sales, Marketing, Support, Product Management, bridging technical gaps between Sophos and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to address varied audiences, including operational staff and C‑Level executives.
  • Industry certification such as CISSP, CEH, or equivalent vendor certifications.
