Assistant Resident Engineer (Simpang Renggam, Johor)

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and managerial guidance and direction to the Inspector of Works (IOWs).
• Coordinate with site personnel to ensure all construction activities align with project drawings and specifications, meeting the required quality standards.
• Assist the Resident Engineer in monitoring project progress, identifying potential delays, and recommending mitigation measures.
• Review and ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Plans and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Manuals prepared by the Contractor.
• Collaborate with the Resident Engineer to evaluate method statements, proposed materials, shop drawings, and traffic management plans submitted by the Contractor for site operations.
• Respond to technical inquiries from the Contractor and coordinate with design engineers for any required design changes.
• Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing and maintaining various project reports, including Site Diaries, Monthly Progress Reports, QAQC (Quality Assurance Quality Control) Reports, HSSE Reports, Routine Maintenance Reports, Traffic Management Safety Reports, and Incident Reports.
• Inform the Resident Engineer should the Contractor fail to comply with the Specifications and Construction Drawings and adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Verify the Joint Measurement Sheet(s) for works completed by the Contractor for their interim claims.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Resident Engineer.
