Job description

You will work under the guidance of a Chef de Partie to learn and develop their culinary skills across various kitchen stations. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of the kitchen, involving a wide range of food preparation and kitchen maintenance duties. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.

​Key Responsibilities :

  • ​Food Preparation : Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting vegetables, fruits, and meats. Prepare basic dishes and components of more complex plates as directed by senior chefs.
  • ​Station Support : Support the Chef de Partie in the daily operation of a specific kitchen station (e.g., saucier, garde manger, entremetier). This includes setting up the station before service (mise en place) and ensuring all necessary ingredients and equipment are readily available.
  • ​Cooking and Plating : Under supervision, cook and plate dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and presentation standards. This may involve grilling, frying, sautéing, and other basic cooking techniques.
  • ​Stock Management : Assist with the receiving, storing, and rotating of kitchen stock and supplies. Monitor inventory levels and inform senior chefs of any shortages. Ensure that all food items are stored correctly and at the proper temperatures.
  • ​Kitchen Hygiene and Safety : Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area at all times. Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including food handling and storage procedures. Participate in regular kitchen cleaning schedules.
  • ​Learning and Development : Actively seek to learn new culinary techniques and skills from senior chefs. Demonstrate a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities to advance within the kitchen brigade.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : RM2, RM2,300.00 per month
