Responsibilities

  • Fosters strong and collaborative working relationships with school leadership and key stakeholders, creating a supportive and connected environment.
  • Keeps the Principal and management team well-informed on employment laws and regulations, delivering focused training where needed to build confidence and ensure compliance.
  • Stays up to date with employment legislation, offering proactive advice to leadership on compliance matters and potential risk areas.
  • Acts as a positive force for continuous improvement in people practices, inspiring thoughtful change and strengthening people management approaches.
  • Supports the Principal and leadership team in cultivating a positive school culture by equipping managers with the tools and skills needed to lead their teams effectively.
  • Drives the implementation of HR initiatives and serves as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance on staff management and professional development.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement, addresses potential risks, and proposes well-considered changes to enhance overall HR practices.
  • Collaborates with school leadership and XCL Education Head Office on performance and salary reviews, ensuring alignment with roles, responsibilities, and policies.
  • Leads and supports HR-related projects across the school, ensuring clear communication, smooth change management, and successful implementation.
  • Provides expert guidance throughout the recruitment process, supporting hiring managers and the HR team to meet staffing needs in line with school plans and budgets.
  • Assesses learning and development needs and recommends impactful interventions to support staff growth and capability-building.
  • Promotes effective use of HR systems and ensures all staff are well-informed on HR policies and procedures, encouraging understanding and accountability.
  • Manages workplace concerns and grievances with professionalism and care, using mediation and investigations where necessary to maintain a respectful and supportive environment.
  • Acts as the HR lead for all safeguarding and compliance-related matters within the school, upholding the highest standards of safety and integrity.
