Job Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes for cable harness production. This role plays a key part in improving process capability, efficiency, and product quality through the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Engineer will also support New Product Introduction (NPI), production ramp-up, and equipment / tooling setup to ensure operational excellence.

Job Description :

Design and implement efficient process flows, standard work instructions, and visual guides for cable harness assembly.

Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects using any Lean, Kaizen, or any other methodologies.

Support NPI, First Article (FA), and Mass Production (MP) by establishing process parameters, production lines, tooling, and jigs / fixtures.

Troubleshoot daily manufacturing issues related to processes, tools, fixtures, and equipment.

Perform time studies, maintain accurate product cycle times, update master data, and ensure process cost control.

Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and apply appropriate process controls.

Collaborate with Quality and Maintenance teams to reduce defects, improve equipment uptime, and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Lead process validation and qualification for new product transfers and ensure compliance with technical and quality specifications.

Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to technicians and assistant engineers.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager or management team.

Education Level :

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Working Experience :

Minimum 2 to 3 years (5 years for Senior) of hands-on experience in process engineering or manufacturing support.

Experience in design validation, NPI implementation, or project management is preferred.

Previous background in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) or cable harness assembly is a strong advantage.

Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement tools is a plus.

Familiarity with MES / ERP systems is an added advantage.

Knowledge / Skills :

Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capability in a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in process documentation, layout planning, time / motion studies, and cycle time analysis.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Self-driven, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset.
