Job description

This role is responsible for leading a team of Business Analyst and developers working towards the development and support of eTrace modules for all Advanced Energy sites.

eTrace is the Warehouse and Shopfloor execution system for the EP factories which will be rolled out to other sites and future acquisitions if any.

This role will take ownership of technical development and / or functional support of other applications, with the purpose to support manufacturing activities and fulfill business requirement.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Development and Support for eTrace (SOX)

  • Working closely with business users and stakeholders to understand business requirements and propose technical solutions to project manager. Planning and documenting functional requirement for features and system design. Guide the team towards designing, building and configuring new function modules in eTrace to meet business process and application requirements. Work with other team members in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applications. Provide sustaining support to eTrace with enhancement releases and data maintenance adhering to IT Change Management Processes

2. Standardization, Rollout of eTrace and other related applications to Other sites

  • Ensure standardization of the eTrace solution across all AE factories. Roll out newly developed module to new manufacturing sites as appropriate. Work with project manager to perform functional and / or technical assessment of rolling out eTrace to Other AP facilities. Work with the project manager to prepare an execution plan and seamless go live as per the plan with minimal impact to operations, as well as the contingency plan to handle any possible exception. Coach local application support team to get familiar with eTrace technical details, ensuring timely and effective support after eTrace rollout.
  • 3. Team Coaching and Mentoring

  • Mentoring junior team members and ensuring they adhere to determined software quality standards.
  • 4. Participates in the development and implementation of corporate strategies, policies, and procedures across functional or departmental areas.

    5. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.

    6. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.

    7. Other duties as assigned.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Location : Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.
  • Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (PC, telephone, copier, fax machine, etc.).
  • Works under limited supervision.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

    1. Technical Skills :

  • Microsoft Visual Studio VB.Net, C# SQL HTML and related web technologies
  • 2. Developmental Skills :

  • Develop New Applications / modules / functions Support Existing Applications Technical and User Documentation
  • 3. Functional Skills :

  • Analyzing Information such as Requirements, Enhancements and Problems such as bugs and issues Teamwork - Collaborate and work with team members Problem Solving skills Ability to learn new technologies and be updated Ability to test web applications Follow Project and Team guidelines Proficient in English (oral and written communication).
  • EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Manufacturing (shopfloor) Execution system development / support is required.
  • Desirable :

  • Experience of development and support of ERP systems (SAP, S4 Hana).
  • EDUCATION : Essential :

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, major in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent education.
  • Desirable :

  • Education / knowledge of MES (manufacturing execution system) and ERP (Enterprise resource planning) system.
