Plant Manager

Will be responsible to lead and coordinate the production team to meet production goals, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure the safety and efficiency of production processes. This role involves managing resources, personnel, and processes to optimize productivity and minimize costs.

Key Accountabilities

Production Planning and Maintenance :

Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and company objectives.

Coordinate with purchasing, supply chain, and logistics departments to ensure timely availability of raw materials for continuous production.

Collaborate with engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities to minimize disruption to production schedules.

Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and repairs as needed.

Manage maintenance budgets and expenses, including spare parts inventory and equipment upgrades.

Team Management and Supervision :

Lead and supervise production staff, including operators, technicians, and team leads, to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

Motivate team members and create a positive work environment.

Conduct regular team meetings to communicate production goals, provide updates on performance, and solicit feedback from team members.

Quality Control and Assurance :

Collaborate with R&D and QC to develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.

Collaborate with QC to establish and maintain a robust quality management system, including documentation of quality procedures, specifications, and inspection criteria.

Process Improvement and Efficiency :

Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Use WCM methodology and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production processes, eliminate waste, and improve productivity.

Utilize lean manufacturing principles, such as value stream mapping, 5S, and Kaizen, to drive continuous improvement and eliminate non-value-added activities.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor process performance and track improvements over time.

Safety and Compliance :

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the manufacturing facility to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate safety concerns.

Work closely with the EHS team.

Inventory and Resource Management :

Coordinate with purchasing and procurement teams to forecast demand, procure materials, and maintain optimal inventory levels based on production schedules and lead times.

Monitor inventory turnover rates, inventory accuracy, and aging inventory to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Budgeting and Cost Control :

Manage production budgets and control costs to achieve financial targets.

Conduct regular reviews and analysis of production performance metrics, such as cost per unit, labor productivity, and material usage variance, to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

Reporting and Documentation :

Develop and maintain reporting systems and processes to track key production metrics, including production output, quality metrics, downtime, and efficiency measures.

Analyze production data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

Communication and Collaboration :

Maintain open lines of communication with other departments, such as maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain.

Collaborate with senior management to align production goals with overall company objectives.

Ad hoc tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.

Min 5 years & above

Good attitude, positive minded, independent, and good team player.

Proven experience in production management or a similar role.

Knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality control standards.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address production challenges.

Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and other departments.
