Job Scope :
The incumbent is responsible in supporting Accounting & Reporting workstream in end-to-end implementation of the new insurance accounting system (Oracle) of the Company and ensure the delivery of project tasks at a quality and timely manner. The role will participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the new accounting system function as per business requirement.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities :
A) Assist in technical discussions and assessment for the end-to-end implementation of the new accounting system
B) Liaise with various internal and external counterparties and proactively report any concerns or unresolved issues that may lead to project delays
C) Conduct post-implementation monitoring and address Day 2 issues.
D) Provide support during execution of parallel run / dry run of systems.
E) Participate and assist in ad hoc tasks
F) Testing responsibilities :
- Participate in all UAT activities of the change in accounting system project
- Assist the Lead to develop comprehensive test cases based on accounting standards, business processes, and system functionalities, covering areas like general ledger, expense, financial reporting etc.
- Execute test scripts to verify system functionality across different scenarios, including data input, calculations, transactions posting, and report generation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial requirements.
- Test the integration between accounting system modules and other systems (e.g. Policy Admin Systems) to validate data flow and seamless data exchange.
- Perform regression testing after system updates or changes to ensure previously tested functionalities remain intact.
- Collaborate with end users to conduct UAT, gathering feedback on usability, system navigation, and data validation.
- Identify, document, and track defects discovered during testing, providing detailed descriptions and potential solutions to development teams through maintaining a register of issues.
- Analyze test results to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks related to system functionality and data integrity.
- Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test results, and defect logs.
- Communicate testing progress, findings, and potential issues to project stakeholders, including finance team members, system administrators, and developers.
Job Specification : Qualification
Degree in Finance / Accounting related discipline or Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent).Experience
Minimum 3-4 years related working experience in Finance / Accounting roles.Prior experience in accounting or finance roles, including hands-on experience with accounting software.Familiarity with accounting software applications (e.g. Oracle, SAP) and ability to learn new systems quickly.Proficiency in using JIRA is preferredPreferably candidate from life insurance industry and / or relevant audit background.Competencies & Personal Traits
Ability to analyze data, identify anomalies, and interpret test results to draw meaningful conclusions.A team player with good interpersonal skills, able to work independently and under pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively document defects, communicate test findings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Working location reachable by public transport.Job Type : Contract
