Electropolishing Engineer (Surface Treatment)

The Electropolishing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and overseeing electropolishing processes to ensure high-quality surface finishes on metal components, primarily stainless steel and other alloys. This role ensures compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize electropolishing processes and parameters for new and existing products.
• Monitor and control process variables (e.g., current density, temperature, electrolyte concentration) to maintain consistent surface quality.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective / preventive actions for process deviations and quality issues.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure surface finish requirements are met.
• Select and maintain electropolishing equipment, including tanks, power supplies, and filtration systems.
• Ensure all electropolishing operations comply with internal specifications and external industry standards (e.g., ASTM, SEMI).
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process validation reports.
• Lead trials and testing for new materials, parts, and process improvements.
• Train operators and technicians on electropolishing procedures and safety practices.
• Support audits and customer visits with technical explanations and documentation.
