Senior Finance Manager

Job descriptionOversee day-to-day finance operations : general ledger, AP / AR, monthly close, treasury, and working capital (DSO, DPO, DSI). Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports and ensure timely submission to the regional and global teams. Lead internal controls, audit readiness, and accurate statutory filings. Streamline cost and reporting processes with a strong focus on efficiency and governance. Supervise procurement oversight and coordinate with supply chain on inventory accuracy. Act as local coordinator between Malaysia entity and regional / legal teams for corporate governance, contract review and compliance. Support statutory audit and corporate tax filings with external providers and regional tax experts. Collaborate with APAC IT team on infrastructure support and system upgrades, ensuring operational continuity across office, retail, and eCommerce channels. Lead, mentor and upskill a small team including the Business Controller and Finance Executive. Establish clear KPIs and foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and collaboration. Ensure smooth team operations and succession planning during the contract period. Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; CA / CPA certified preferred 10–15 years of progressive finance leadership experience Strong exposure to commercial finance, FP&A and strategic business partnering Background in retail, FMCG, or consumer goods preferred Experience in handling project-based roles or interim leadership responsibilities is a plus Agile, hands-on, and able to navigate ambiguity Strong stakeholder management and assertive communication style Executive presence with a solution-oriented approach Confident working in a matrix structure with regional support Data-driven, detail-oriented, and commercially minded Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems (SAP or similar), Power BI is a plus Familiar with IFRS / local GAAP and compliance frameworks Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, or Cantonese a plus An opportunity to drive meaningful impact in a high-growth environment Exposure to regional collaboration and group-level decision-making A values-driven, inclusive and dynamic company culture Competitive compensation and access to employee perks Hybrid working arrangements Mid-Senior level Contract Finance and Accounting / Auditing Industries : Personal Care Product Manufacturing, Retail, and Retail Apparel and Fashion

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager based in Malaysia to lead the country’s finance function, including core accounting, FP&A, cash flow and controls, supported by regional expertise and outsourced services in tax, legal, audit, IT, and procurement. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role in a fast-paced beauty and retail environment.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Business Partnering
- Serve as a key advisor to the General Manager and senior leadership, providing financial insights, risk assessments and commercial recommendations.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting and rolling forecast process in alignment with regional and business objectives.
- Guide investment decisions through ROI modelling and scenario planning for key projects (e.g. new store openings, pricing strategies, cost optimizations).
- Drive operational KPIs and partner closely with sales, marketing and supply chain teams to support growth.
