Role Overview :

Our client is seeking a

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

to join their global

Cloud Governance & Security

team, based in

Kuala Lumpur

  • . This is a key role responsible for
  • managing and governing core cloud infrastructure

    within

    Microsoft Azure

    , ensuring compliance with security and operational standards, and supporting

    large-scale cloud migrations and global infrastructure projects

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the core Azure cloud tenant
  • , including subscriptions, access control, and policy enforcement.

  • Implement and maintain role-based access control
  • (RBAC) and ensure alignment with security and governance standards.

  • Collaborate with the
  • cloud platform team

    to provide essential services and infrastructure support.

  • Oversee automation and infrastructure-as-code deployments
  • using Terraform and / or Bicep.

  • Support
  • on-prem to cloud migration initiatives

    , currently active in APAC and expanding globally.

  • Facilitate cross-functional cloud projects
  • with teams such as security, networking, Active Directory, and monitoring.

  • Act as a technical advisor
  • on infrastructure design, governance, and automation best practices.

  • Participate in global collaboration
  • with teammates in Europe and the Americas, supporting follow-the-sun operations.

    Required Skills & Experience :

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience
  • in cloud infrastructure or related IT infrastructure roles.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • , particularly in tenant and subscription management.

  • Familiarity with
  • Azure ENTRA ID

    (formerly Azure AD) and

    Azure security policies

  • Experience with
  • Terraform and / or Bicep

  • for infrastructure as code;
  • PowerShell

    scripting proficiency.

  • Working knowledge of
  • networking, modern infrastructure design, and hybrid connectivity

  • Exposure to
  • on-premise environments

    and

    cloud migration

    projects is highly desirable.

  • Experience
  • working in or supporting enterprise-scale environments

    Nice-to-Have :

  • Experience consulting
  • on cloud or infrastructure architecture.

  • Familiarity with DevOps
  • concepts (though this is not a DevOps role).

  • Understanding of corporate compliance
  • and governance frameworks.

  • Previous experience
  • in large enterprises or global teams.

    Team & Culture :
  • Part of a
  • global team of 10

    , with members across KL, Europe, and the Americas.

  • Local KL team consists of ~60 IT staff
  • , though cloud technical presence is limited (1 other cloud engineer on site).

  • Collaborative, process-driven environment
  • with emphasis on responsibility and autonomy.
