Overview

Head of Customer Engagement & Activation — Maxis

Location : Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Activation Planning : Serve as the strategic owner for all B2B events (physical / virtual), sponsorships, and activations, ensuring alignment with marketing and sales objectives for each business segment.
  • MBIC Management : Manage the Maxis Business Innovation Centre (MBIC) as a state-of-the-art experiential showcase, overseeing daily operations, content updates, and technology infrastructure to maximize high-value customer engagements and sales enablement.
  • Activation & Experience Execution : Drive operational excellence and end-to-end execution of events and activations, including budget management, venue selection, vendor relationships, and on-site delivery.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management : Collaborate with Segment Marketing and Sales to tailor activations, manage internal stakeholders and external partners, and ensure seamless lead handoffs and follow-up.
  • Performance Management & Accountability : Own the pillar budget, define and track KPIs (attendance, engagement, lead generation, pipeline contribution, customer satisfaction), and provide data-driven reports to senior management.
  • Team Leadership & People Management : Lead a team of Events & Activation Specialists and Innovation Centre Specialists; foster creativity, accountability, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in end-to-end planning, management, and flawless execution of large-scale events, showcases, activations, and physical spaces.
  • Experience in telecommunications, ICT, or technology B2B industries is essential.
  • Prior experience in a senior role at a leading advertising or activation agency is a significant advantage.
