PART 2 : JOB PURPOSE

It is a form of 2 or 3 sentences that sums up what the job is basically about and should justify the existence of the job. It should clarify three things : a) What the job should do?;

b) To whom or what it should be done? and; c) How it supports the business?

v Member of the technical team who performs technical role in support of development, implementation, maintenance and operations of application systems / IT solution (local and regional) under Risk Management for the designated applications.

v Provide user support

v Participate / undertake IT project tasks

The application system development and implementation of IT project / solution are to

meet the business strategic plan (incl. business transformation, business growth, operational efficiency, etc) and compliance requirements as well IT-owned initiatives.

  • Ensure technical specifications / programs developed meet user / functional specifications.
  • Enhancing understanding of business functionality.
  • Reviewing functional and technical design with users and Specialists.
  • Obtain buy-ins from business by providing sufficient info for them to make decisions.
  • Clearer understanding ensures system is delivered according to business needs; less need for re- work.
  • Design, analyse, and provide technical specifications and specialty guidance incl. review of codes

/ test contents and coding of complex programs for system development / enhancement in accordance to user specifications.

  • To have team- leading qualities i.e. technical knowledge & soft skills.
  • Ensure programs are error free and work efficiently.
  • Thorough testing, peer review (program codes review)
  • Program delivered is error-free and according to user specifications.
  • To ensure systems & support are delivered timely and accurately according to technical
  • specifications.

  • Ensure system / enhancement are delivered on time and with high quality incl. accuracy and operation efficiency
  • Formulate comprehensive test plan, test contents incl. SIT and performance test.
  • Structured and thorough testing during SIT ensures minimal / zero errors surfaced during Users testing.
  • Exception testing is also carried out.
  • Support user testing incl. review of test plan and be responsive to user queries, request for assistance.
  • To proactively improve the processes.
  • Ensure timely resolution of application problems
  • Recognize and articulate the problem, participate in problem resolution activities
  • Review system design and operation flow to identify potential root cause
  • Propose recovery actions and / or permanent resolution
  • Prompt escalation of problems not within internal controls for management
  • attention and decision

  • Problem resolution within agreed SLA.
  • Minimize disruptions to Business via recovery actions (temporary / permanent)
  • Management is kept aware of issue that may require them to step in to get certain things done if working level is unable to do so.
  • Investigate and resolve development and production application problems, timely and effectively.
  • Engaging application vendors & infra team for effective resolution of problems.
  • To have good analytical skills to investigate system problem
  • Ensure system high availability and meet SLA
  • Review system performance statistics periodically, propose and implement performance tuning or improvement plan incl. review and redesign system if necessary
  • Prompt escalation

  • All required deliverables / documentations comply with SDLC, IT Security & Audits requirements.

  • PART 4 : EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, SPECIFIC SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

    EDUCATION

    Key-in the required educational background / level required for the Job

  • Level of Education : At least tertiary level
  • Years of Experience : Experience in application support role, troubleshooting, batch execution and support activity. Experience involve in system implementation (small to medium projects) and integrating Business and IT solutions.
  • Discipline / Related Field : Information Technology (IT).
  • EXPERIENCE

    Key-in the required experience / s for the job and specific number of years (if any)

    X 6-10yrs

    SQL or PL / SQL skill (intermediate to

    advance). Database in Oracle DB 12C , 19C and involved in performance tuning

    analysis / activity, experience in AWR report analysis.

    Experience support batch execution, monitoring & troubleshooting, experience

    work with Oracle software application or in Data Warehouse is an added advantage

    Skill : troubleshooting, problem solving, analytical, multitasking, proactive ,
