Data Engineer – Global Logistics

The role of Data Engineer will involve developing, deploying and maintaining robust data pipelines that support analytics and data science initiatives across Global Logistics. Embedded in the Global Advanced Business Analytics team, you will collaborate closely with the enterprise data lake team, leading data scientists and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technically viable solutions that power the Enterprise Data Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, process and store large data sets to meet analytical and application needs.
  • Design and implement optimal data solutions, ensuring performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, working closely with data engineers and data scientists to define and fulfill data requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor data pipelines, ensuring high quality and timely data provisioning.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand organizational and technical dataflows.
  • Share expertise and enable other data engineers through knowledge transfer and mentorship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; Master’s preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in distributed computing and big data systems using Hadoop, MapReduce, or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency in object‑oriented programming and Python or Spark for cloud application development.
  • Experience with cloud‑based data integration in at least one hyper‑scaler (e.g., Azure).
  • Knowledge of PowerBI and Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate statistical models into actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; ability to engage stakeholders across levels.
  • Team‑player mindset with experience in diverse, dynamic global environments.
