Job Summary

Assist in exploring and promoting initiatives related to the development of TV and radio broadcasting in Malaysia. Ensure continuous growth and sustainability in alignment with national objectives to establish Malaysia as a major global center and hub for communications and multimedia information and content services.

Assist in the execution of work plans and project management of ongoing initiatives (e.g., Future Broadcasting Study, Dasar Penyiaran Negara, etc.) for the Malaysian Broadcasting Industry. Assist to perform financial analysis on the health state and performance of the licensees in broadcasting industry. Support cross-functional units, particularly in event coordination and capacity building. Enhance the broadcast industry through information-sharing sessions, workshops, and other initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in exploring and promoting initiatives related to the technological advancement of TV and radio broadcasting in Malaysia, aiming for adoption standards / technology among industry players through a conducive regulatory environment.
  • Assist in formulating a framework and workplan initiatives for technology development, enhancing current technologies, and exploring next-generation technologies such as 5G Broadcast, Over The Top (OTT) delivery, video on demand, Augmented Intelligence (Al), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), etc., for the Broadcast Industry.
  • Assist in the execution of work plans and project management of ongoing initiatives for the Malaysian Broadcasting Industry such as the Future Broadcasting Study, Dasar Penyiaran Negara and Al for the Broadcasting Industry, among others.
  • Assist other cross-functional units within the department, particularly in areas related to event coordination and capacity building.
  • Build clear documentation around ad hoc analyses, methodology, and data definitions for raw and munged data.
  • Support activities such as information-sharing sessions, workshops, and other relevant initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the broadcast industry.
  • Contribute articles related to the latest technology enhancements in the Broadcast Industry for MCMC's internal publication, social media platforms, or external publications.
  • Engage with vendors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide and update the department and Broadcast Industry on the latest broadcasting services or technological enhancements through a series of knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Proactively conduct research and report on the latest technology updates, trends, developments, and innovations in broadcasting services globally that could be adopted by industry players to benefit the industry successfully.
  • Assist in preparing papers to seek management approval on new technology initiatives and other digital broadcasting development areas as and when necessary.

Qualifications & Work Experiences

  • Bachelor Degree in Broadcasting / Information Technologies (IT) or equivalent, or other related qualification from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in broadcast and content industry or equivalent.
  • Candidate with project management experience would be an additional advantage.
  • Fresh Graduate is also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge in Broadcast engineering system and platforms ie DVB-T2, DVB-S2, IPTV, OTT etc.
  • Continuous learning and staying abreast with the latest technological development in Broadcast Industry and industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Broadcast engineering skills and project management.
  • Good knowledge of Broadcasting Regulatory experience.
  • Good knowledge of the industry and government ecosystem
  • Excellent presentation and writing skill (English and Bahasa)
