PURPOSE
- To perform risk assessments for SG Underwriting department as Operations shared services of all life and health products to deliver quality risk assessment, meet service level agreement and productions targets set.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
To perform risk assessment of all life and health products to ensure that risk assessed is compliant to FWDSG’s and regulatory guidelines and with experience in underwriting applications with sum assured that authorised by company.To work closely with new business and distribution team to ensure that service delivery and production targets are met.To review appeals, provide preliminary underwriting services and handle post claim underwriting.To assist Senior Underwriter / Head of Underwriting to constantly review of underwriting guidelines to ensure that it is complied with FWD Group’s underwriting philosophy.To support new product launches and corporate initiatives by establishing appropriate underwriting guidelines for the initiatives.To perform underwriting audits.To provide training and consultation support to distribution channels.Reduce operational risk by setting guidelines, procedures and controls that are compliant to the Company’s risk governance and philosophy.Deliver the Company’s key performance indicators set.Achieve operations efficiency through automation by constant analysing management information data generated by automated rules engine, reviewing and updating the underwriting rules to improve straight through processing rates.Work on projects that are assigned by Senior Underwriter / Head of Underwriting.Prepared regular report with analysis on underwriting performance.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Degree holderAt least 8 to 10 years of underwriting experience in life and health insurancePreferably with FLMI and pursuing ALUKNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
Strong knowledge in life & health insurance.Good understanding on regulatory related to life and health insurance.Good verbal and written communication skills.Good interpersonal skillGood analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.Demonstrated proficiency to work and adapt in a dynamic environment and recognise priority issues, solving problems and escalating quickly where relevant.COMPETENCIES
Underwriting Expertise :
