Overview
Industrial Engineer focuses on optimizing systems, processes, and operations to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity in manufacturing and service environments.
Responsibilities
- Process and Systems Optimization
Analyze workflows, production processes, and facility layouts.
Design and implement efficient systems for labor, materials, and equipment.Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste and improve quality.Time and Motion StudiesConduct time studies and work sampling to determine optimal labor usage.
Support RFQ processes e.g. estimated cycle time, space, etc.Develop standard work methods and production targets.Recommend improvements to reduce cycle time and increase throughput.Cost Reduction and Resource UtilizationIdentify opportunities to reduce operational costs (e.g., labor, materials, energy).
Optimize inventory control, material flow, and supply chain logistics.Support cost-benefit analysis for process changes or new technologies.Quality and SafetyCollaborate with quality and safety teams to ensure compliance with standards.
Design ergonomic and safe work environments.Help implement quality improvement initiatives.Data Analysis and ReportingCollect and analyze data to support decision-making.
Use simulation tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Minitab) for modeling processes.Present findings to management with actionable recommendations.Project ManagementSupport or lead projects involving process improvement, capacity expansion, or technology integration.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, supply chain).Continuous ImprovementDrive Kaizen events and continuous improvement activities.
Monitor KPIs and track the effectiveness of implemented changes.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.2–5 years’ experience in process optimization, industrial engineering, or manufacturing operationsProficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.Strong knowledge of time and motion studies, process flow analysis, and production planning.Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Minitab, or other process-simulation / data analysis tools.Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems and supply chain concepts.Green Belt / Black Belt certification in Six Sigma or equivalent.#J-18808-Ljbffr
