Introduction to Role

This role reports directly to the Head of APAC Commercial Procurement and has regional responsibility for Enabling categories (HR services, Professional services, Medical) and market clusters in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. It executes the Procurement strategy for all Commercial functions, drives excellence in business partnering, and maximises collaboration.

As a critical role, you will influence the future direction of APAC commercial procurement by ensuring standards, processes and governance are in place. You will support the Head of APAC Commercial Procurement in developing vision, strategy and operating plans aligned with AstraZeneca’s objectives.

You will lead a team that works with global category teams to develop a regional procurement category strategy, creating cost‑effective sourcing solutions that improve service to stakeholders.

Typical Accountabilities

• Provide regional leadership for end‑to‑end category development, maintain key business relationships and manage supplier relationships.
• Offer strategic input and external perspectives to senior management, influencing commercial direction.
• Drive delivery of value with a focus on profitability, return on investment and business objectives.
• Build and maintain effective relationships across cluster areas to understand business plans and manage business risk.
• Communicate the broader Procurement strategy to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the APAC GS team and local procurement teams to achieve Procurement goals and objectives.
• Ensure procurement processes and standards are appropriate, compliant and effective, resolving any compliance issues promptly.
• Champion compliance with AstraZeneca’s policies and ethics standards.
• Manage a team, ensuring functional goals align with portfolio needs, and evaluate activities to support business units and markets.
• Inspire, motivate and develop talent, fostering an inclusive culture and making APAC Procurement a great place to work.
• Influence strategically and persuade tactfully to achieve desired outcomes while maintaining effective relationships.
