The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analysing, reporting, and managing financial data to support accurate cost management in a manufacturing environment. This role is based in Johor and requires expertise in accounting and finance practices.

Description

• Assist in developing policies and procedures for determining standard inventory costs (Material, Labour, Manufacturing Burden).
• Ensure consistent application of costing policies across all company divisions.
• Periodically update standard costs for inventory according to company policies.
• Ensure new inventory items (NPIs) are accurately costed for timely Cost of Sales reporting.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Sales (Quoting team) to verify BOMs and MoMs reflect accurate inventory costs.
• Analyse Contribution Margin and Gross Profit Margin by Verticals and Product Groups.
• Present analysis findings to senior leadership for profitability improvement decisions.
• Support the budgeting process for Strategic Business Units.
• Conduct ad-hoc reporting and projects involving financial and non-financial data.
• Identify trends and opportunities through data gathering, manipulation, and analysis.
