Purpose of the Job
This role leverages a strong understanding of IKEA business priorities, the IKEA range, home furnishing trends, the national market, competition, and customers’ living situations to drive and develop sales across all channels now and into the future. The role leads and inspires the team, collaborates closely with other functions and stores, and ensures maximum sales growth and sustained profitability. It also contributes to global business development by sharing specialist sales knowledge and insights that strengthen IKEA commercially and support the vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people.
Responsibilities of the Job
- Setting clear goals on sales, profit, margin and volume development for my country – with solid action plans to support the achievement of these goals.
- Lead the Country Commercial Team to execute the Country commercial plan.
- Using global priorities, range, national market and competition to develop strategies with the team and store sales managers to meet present & future customer needs.
- Drive a sales strategy for the country, setting challenging goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure the team analyses current trends to predict and optimise commercial opportunities, working with stores, IKEA of Sweden and the supply chain.
- Communicate strategies inspiringly and engagingly to motivate Store Sales managers to achieve goals.
- Maximise commercial opportunities across all media and sales channels.
- Develop and optimise the range for the country in connection with customer needs.
- Lead key processes such as pricing, sales planning and range dimensioning.
- Develop commercial skills of the team and store matrix partners through constructive communication, feedback and development plans.
- Analyse business performance and take action to correct under‑performance or optimise over‑performance.
- Promote good examples across the country and region, leveraging the global network for solutions.
- Contribute to the Country Management team’s overall responsibility for country performance.
- Oversee monitoring and reacting to competitor activity.
- Maintain budgetary control, monitoring, follow‑up and adjustment as needed.
- Drive market share development & position IKEA as a first destination for consumers.
- Contribute to people, planet, social connection and environmental impact.

Deep understanding of market, customers, and drivers of satisfaction.Strong business analysis skills, agile with plans.Deep understanding of business drivers and ability to educate others.Strong understanding of profit & loss and its impact.Proven track record of achieving / exceeding sales goals as part of a team.Previous budgetary control experience.Financial interest in the market and response to macro‑economic factors.Experience in an IKEA management role.Capabilities
