Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining excellent standards of hygiene and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate activities in a designated section of the kitchen
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in developing new menu items and improving existing recipes
- Ensure proper food storage, handling, and rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service and timely food delivery
- Monitor and maintain kitchen inventory, placing orders for supplies as needed
- Participate in menu planning and cost control initiatives
- Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and maintain professional relationships with all staff
Qualifications
Culinary degree or diploma in culinary artsMinimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar roleExtensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentationStrong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and hygiene standardsExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlinesDemonstrated leadership and team management abilitiesCreativity and passion for culinary innovationProficiency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is a plusFamiliarity with Malaysian cuisine and local ingredientsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidaysPhysical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessaryCommitment to continuous learning and professional development in the culinary fieldPositions are open for Malaysians & Permanent Resident onlyAdditional Information
