Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
The Account Manager – Eastern Postpaid is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value postpaid accounts within the Eastern region, ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets for Maxis Mobile.
What are you accountable for?
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with assigned key postpaid customers in the Eastern region.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts to increase revenue and market share.
- Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis and translate them into suitable Maxis Mobile solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., technical support, marketing, product development) to ensure timely and successful delivery of Maxis Mobile solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to customers.
- Negotiate and close sales agreements, ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify areas for improvement and growth.
- Provide regular reports on account status, sales forecasts, and market intelligence to management.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently and effectively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with Maxis Mobile's product and service offerings, as well as industry developments.
What do you need to have for the role?
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of proven account management or sales experience in the telecommunications industry, preferably within postpaid mobile services.Strong understanding of the Eastern Malaysian market and customer base.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.Results-oriented with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the Eastern region.Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; proficiency in local dialects would be an added advantage.Skills / Knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Good written, oral and interpersonal skills.Good research, analytical, planning and organizational skills.To have an acute sense of business savvy and able to motivate, manage & develop strong partners (business dealers).Result oriented with the drive to exceed sales target.Good interpersonal & presentation skills with strong client orientation.Ability to perform under pressure in a challenging environment and work independently with minimum supervision.Personal traits : Positive, Passionate, Collaborative, a candid team player who collaborates with peers to solve problems.Confident and professional in representing the company in person and writing.What’s next?
