About the role
Based in our KL Accounting Center, you will play a critical role in supporting the company’s strategic capital deployment, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures as well as all non‑routine and significant transaction for all entities across Air Products in Asia by ensuring these transactions comply with US GAAP and Air Products Finance Standard.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance of capital deployment, mergers, acquisition and divestiture transactions as well as all non‑routine and significant transactions across Asia with US GAAP and APCI Finance Standards by evaluating accounting treatments and preparing comprehensive accounting documentation.
- Support successful capital deployment, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures in Asia by conducting or supporting due diligence, evaluating financial impacts, and identifying risks in collaboration with cross‑function teams.
- Facilitate effective business negotiations and transaction agreements by reviewing agreements and providing accounting perspectives to support decision‑making.
- Achieve accurate and timely integration of new entities and recording of non‑routine and significant transactions by developing accounting integration or divestiture plan, preparing US GAAP opening balance sheet, coordinating cross‑functional efforts, and ensuring seamless accounting handover on closing dates.
- Maintain effective communication with headquarters management and Technical Accounting teams by providing timely updates on key project milestones and ensuring alignment on complex deal accounting treatments.
- Prepare functional currency determination for new legal entities.
- Support in US GAAP new accounting standard implementation.
- Support in update and establishment of Air Products Finance Standards.
- Support ad‑hoc requests.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance and a professional accounting qualification (CPA / ACCA or equivalent).At least 8 years of technical accounting experience in a public accounting firm; merger & acquisition accounting experience is an advantage.Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices; US GAAP knowledge is a plus.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, enabling effective information flow across and ability to articulate complex issues across all organizational levels.Strong conceptual and analytical skills.Capable of making timely decisions under pressure in dynamic environment and generating, improving, and maintaining quality processes and documentation.Drives and adapts to change for better results.Language – English and Chinese.Who we are
