  • Job Purpose :
  • To lead and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Operational Resilience programs across the organization, ensuring preparedness for disruptions, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective crisis and audit management.
  • Key Responsibilities :
  • BCM Program Management :
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and strategies. + Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Risk Assessments. + Coordinate and facilitate BCM exercises, simulations, and training sessions. + Monitor and report on BCM performance metrics and compliance.
  • Operational Resilience :
  • Support the implementation of operational resilience frameworks aligned with Group Resilience Policies. + Conduct scenario testing, service categorization, and dependency mapping. + Collaborate with IT, tech risk, procurement, and third-party risk teams to ensure resilience across operations.
  • Crisis and Audit Management :
  • Monitor and track existing crises and audit activities in coordination with the Crisis Management Team to ensure timely closures and prevent further escalation. + Ensure preventive and corrective measures for crises and audits are implemented or executed accordingly. + Conduct BCM performance reviews with in-scope Local Business Units (LBUs), discuss findings with management, ensure appropriate responses are obtained for each issue raised, and confirm that actions are closed.
  • Compliance and Governance :
  • Ensure full compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)’s BCM and third-party risk policies, as well as the Group’s internal policies and frameworks. + Drive and deliver business continuity and resilience program implementation and report to senior leaders and stakeholders. + Ensure that gaps and areas of risk to the business are reported and escalated as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement :
  • Work closely with all members of the Group Security & Resilience team and relevant stakeholders. + Provide technical advice and support to business units and first line of defense. + Act as a recovery advisor and secretary to the Crisis Management Team during emergencies.
  • Third-Party Risk Management :
  • Perform resilience due diligence for vendors. + Partner with procurement and risk teams to enhance third-party resilience frameworks.
  • Qualifications & Experience :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, IT, or related field.
  • 4–5 years of experience in Business Continuity and / or Operational Resilience.
  • Experience in second line of defense (2LOD) roles and third-party risk is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications such as MBCI, CBCI, CBCP, or EDRP are preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies :
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 22301, BNM guidelines).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Other Desirable Traits (Added Advantage) :
  • Robust working knowledge of insurance sector regulatory frameworks for business continuity management and operational resilience. Understanding of and experience in applying ISO 22301, ITIL v3, or Business Continuity Institute (BCI) professional practices. Experience implementing and / or overseeing the use of business continuity and / or operational resilience online systems and tools. Ability to explain complex problems or situations and coach less experienced staff across a diverse cultural landscape. Good industry contacts to stay informed on developments in a fast-moving sector. Ability to think ‘outside the box’, adapt ways of working, and develop innovative solutions.
