To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and team-oriented individual for our division Plasma Control Technologies at the Penang site as a Global Commodity Manager
We develop and produce innovative high‑tech components and systems based on X‑ray and radio‑frequency technology. In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialised components required for precise control of plasma processes used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.
What you will do
- Lead and manage global Electronic / PCBA / Motor commodity strategies, including development, execution, and sourcing decisions, while maintaining in-depth knowledge of the industry, analysing market trends, identifying potential risks, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to assess current and future sourcing requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with vendors, evaluate and recommend new suppliers, drive early supplier engagement in the NPI process, and foster long‑term partnerships and commercial agreements, including periodic supplier site visits.
- Support EMS supplier initiatives such as cost reductions, VMI, lead‑time improvements, and favourable payment terms, ensuring alignment in supplier manufacturing, inventory, capacity, and technology, while optimising material costs using the TCO concept. Proactively secure EOL / shortage item stock and drive alternative qualification efforts to mitigate line‑down risk and strengthen EOL management.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for global best‑practice deployment under One Comet by developing and implementing electronic supplier strategies, resolving supplier or commodity‑related issues, supporting customer escalations, and collaborating with EMS SCM, Engineering, and Quality teams to execute part‑level project plans in a dynamic matrix environment.

What you bring
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or other related field.Above 8 years of experience as an EE commodity manager in EMS / ODM / OEM.Proficient in electronic parts market trend, sourcing initiatives, demand and supply planning process.Advanced understanding of business operations, strategy, and supplier performance management, with preferred experience in lean manufacturing and supply chain efficiency.SAP experience, skills on Excel and PowerPoint preferred.Why join us
