Develop, coordinate, and execute operations projects with local authorities, project supervisors, consultants, main contractors, and sub-contractors within Malaysia, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Drive the end-to-end process of assigned projects from confirmation to completion.
Responsible for project functions such as Project Management, Site Management, Project Control, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management, ensuring proper staffing and coordination to meet project goals.
Maintain accurate and timely reporting standards throughout the projects.
Coordinate project groups and communicate on major projects within Malaysia.
Update upper management on project status, trends, and significant changes.
Establish working relationships with O&M teams to facilitate project execution with minimal operational impact.
Ensure safety and QA / QC programs are established, maintained, and reviewed.
Monitor engineering progress against budgets and schedules.
Participate in risk assessments and actively manage project risks.
Prepare project estimates, budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
Manage material purchases and subcontracting via ERP systems.
Coordinate with designers on solar PV system design, including electrical, structural, and mechanical aspects.
Manage sub-contractors, monitor workmanship, and ensure quality during installation.
Work with internal and external parties such as TNB, consulting firms, and local authorities for licensing and documentation.
Coordinate with TNB HQ and local authorities on meter installation and grid interconnection.
Set up remote monitoring systems and conduct testing and commissioning of solar PV systems.
Organize post-project evaluations to identify challenges and improvement opportunities.
Contribute to and comply with the company's QHSE standards and regulations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, preferably related to electrical engineering.
Experience in construction, TNB, or project management fields.
At least 2 years of experience in project engineering, especially in solar energy projects; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems and standards.
Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project and AutoCAD.
Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
