Purpose of the Job

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance Marketing & Communication team to achieve marketing objectives and contribute to a successful business plan. Responsible for executing and delivering excellent customer experiences, collaborating across functions with tenants and IKEA Cheras, and ensuring operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing strategies and overall Marcom plans considering partners, anchors, and tenants while efficiently utilizing the budget to meet marketing objectives such as brand reinforcement, increasing market presence, drawing shopper footfall, and highlighting retailers.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with tenants, government agencies, tourism bodies, charities, and corporate organizations for joint promotional and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting for operational and capital expenditure in Marcom.
  • Enhance the Customer Journey through events, decorations, wayfinding, and engagement experiences.
  • Leverage digital platforms for content creation and social media engagement to improve customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively within departments to coordinate activities and develop business analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Drive marketing initiatives with regional support and manage PR aspects during crises.
  • Qualifications

  • Diploma in Public Relations, Retail, Merchandising, Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Motivation & Knowledge

    Must be passionate about business growth, customer service, change management, and continuous improvement. Strong understanding of retail and digital marketing trends, excellent communication skills in English and at least one other language (Chinese or Bahasa Malaysia), and proven leadership and negotiation skills are essential.
