Overview
Role : Plant Supervisor (DC Site Lead) at JLL. To achieve excellence in preventative and reactive maintenance programs incorporating industry best practice, innovative maintenance techniques and statutory and contractual compliance. Oversee management and control of all plant, mechanical and electrical systems and coordinate remedial action with the Engineering Team in the event of business-critical failures. Provide leadership and direction to multi-skilled Engineering Operations teams, including directly employed staff and appointed vendors. Ensure staff and vendors adhere to client and JLL policies and procedures. Act as point of escalation for critical failures to assist the technical team to make safe, identify, analyse, rectify and report improvements. Reports to the Regional Account Director.
Major Responsibilities
- Manage client related reporting, weekly, monthly, quarterly
- Manage to client SLA and KPI performance requirements
- Provide direction and leadership of the site operations teams, including hiring, motivation, development, training and discipline of the site operation and maintenance organization
- Monitor workload / resources against KPI and budget constraints whilst ensuring up-time
- Initiate and manage site reviews, including maintenance standards, equipment replacement, security, change control, single points of failure, Tier adherence and operational risk
- Ensure delivery of planned and reactive activities, utilizing the CMMS platform within financial operating targets
- Perform additional tasks as required by the Senior Data Centre Manager
- Provide advice and consultation to operate the client’s facilities with regard to facilities engineering matters
- Overall responsibility for all site repair and maintenance carried out by subcontractors to ensure work completion, quality and method of working for compliance with specification and ordinance requirements
- Monitor, measure and report upon the performance of all specialist contractors against the contract budget
- Coordinate meetings with contractors, specialist vendors and suppliers to ensure standards are established and maintained, and develop corrective action plans when performance falls below expectations
- Ensure maintenance documentation meets required standards and provides sufficient information to operate an effective asset management regimen
- Assist / support the client with statutory compliance requirements / certifications for the site
- Ensure asset information is maintained and updated within the CMMS
- Ensure site operations, including incident management and escalation, follow approved Client / JLL procedures
- Responsible for both hard service and soft service operations; ensure all agreed procedures and standards are implemented
- Proactively engage stakeholders to meet onsite client expectations
- Recommend continuous improvement initiatives and energy management plans; actively seek opportunities to improve results and increase energy efficiency (PUE)
Qualifications / Ideal Experience
Tertiary qualifications in mechanical, electrical or operational engineeringProfessional Engineering certification in Electrical or Mechanical systemsData Centre certification, CDCP or equivalent7 - 10 years of relevant experience in engineering operations services3 - 5 years’ experience operating electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facilityExcellent people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client and vendor staffCritical environment experience within a similarly sized site or operationExperience with continuous improvement initiatives, client relationship management and report preparationSeniority level
