Responsibilities

  • Shariah review on Credit Papers – new or additional Islamic financing facilities, annual or periodic review and restructure and reschedule cases.
  • Perform Shariah screening on the customer’s business activity to ensure compliance with Shariah principles and the Bank’s relevant policies.
  • Review the Shariah elements of financing structure and its terms and conditions as proposed by Relationship Managers (RMs).
  • Review the Shariah elements of restructuring and rescheduling cases and its terms and conditions as proposed by RMs.
  • Propose and / or review payment schedule, selling price and payment structure for RMs.
  • Shariah review on Letters of Offer – new or additional Islamic financing facilities and restructure and / or reschedule cases.
  • Ensure no non‑Shariah compliant terminologies are used.
  • Ensure the terms and conditions are Shariah compliant.
  • Provide training to the relevant staff on Islamic banking and Shariah self‑certification process as and when requested.
  • Guide stakeholders to comply with Shariah resolutions by the Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia and the Bank’s Shariah Committee, including related regulatory policies and internal policies / guides / manuals.
  • Provide advice to RMs on Islamic Banking products operations, documentation, and legal matters as and when requested.
  • Review Islamic accounts under rehabilitations / litigations as and when requested.
  • Advise, suggest and recommend product structure / process improvement to Product Management Section as and when relevant.
  • Cultivate good relationship and clear communication with key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Islamic Finance / Banking or other related field.
  • Strong knowledge in Islamic Finance / Banking and Risk Management with at least 3 years experience in Islamic banking.
  • Experience in credit evaluation and marketing of financing / loan products would be an advantage.
  • Professional certification in Islamic finance (e.g., IBFIM or equivalent) would be an advantage.
  • Possess good knowledge of Islamic Banking operations and related regulatory policies / guidelines.
  • Good interpersonal skill and able to interact with senior management.
  • Possess high analytical skills and has experience in related fields.
