Senior Master Data Analyst – EMEA / APAC

Job Description

The Senior Master Data Management (MDM) Analyst role manages and maintains the organization's master data, ensuring data quality and integrity across vendor and customer domains. The position focuses on streamlining communication across multiple business functions and providing SAP master data-related support. Strong data analytical skills, knowledge of data governance, compliance, and impact on financial controls and downstream OTC and PTP operations are essential. The market served includes Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East regions.

Primary Job Function

To manage and maintain the organization's master data (Vendor & Customer), ensuring data quality and integrity. To streamline communication across multiple business functions on MDM processes and provide SAP master data support. To apply data analytical skills and governance knowledge affecting financial controls and downstream OTC and PTP operations.

Core Job Responsibilities

Data Management

  • Maintain and manage master data across Customer & Vendor domains.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and standardization.

Data Governance

  • Support the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
  • Promote best practices for data management.

    • Data Quality Assurance

  • Implement and monitor data quality controls and processes.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Perform data audits and analysis to benchmark data quality.

    • Data Analysis And Identification

  • Analyze master data and data sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Identify data quality issues and inconsistencies.
  • Document data terms, definitions, standards, and MDM processes.

    • System Support

  • Support design, implementation, and maintenance of MDM systems and processes.
  • Participate in system testing and performance tuning.

    • Collaboration And Communication

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements.
  • Communicate data quality issues and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the organization's data needs are met.

    • EMEA Focus

  • Possess a good understanding of the EMEA market and its specific data management requirements.
  • Support EMEA-specific MDM initiatives and projects.

    • Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and data management optimization.
  • Troubleshoot master data management issues.
  • Work within the MDM organization to develop and implement data quality metrics.

    • Position Accountability / Scope

  • Responsible for compliance with departmental, corporate, and divisional policies and procedures.
  • Must adhere to divisional business rules and processes outlined in Master Data SOPs and SLAs.
  • Understand the implications of master data as it relates to SAP and other business systems based on requirements.
  • Failure to achieve results may result in business process delays and / or duplicate effort with significant financial / business impacts.
  • Effectively utilize the centralized MDM systems (SAP ECC, SAP S / 4HANA, SAP MDG, and ancillary systems) to maintain data integrity across the C / R / U / D process.
  • Independently develop general approaches to problem solving using data‑driven, basic project management principles. Work is reviewed to determine if objectives have been achieved.

    • Minimum Education

  • B.A. / B.S. degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, or Finance preferred.

    • Experience

    Several years of experience in data management, preferably in a Master Data Management (MDM) role.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in data management, preferably in a Master Data Management (MDM) role.
  • Experience working with MDM tools and technologies (e.g., SAP MDM, SAP MDG, SAP BODS).
  • Experience in data profiling, cleansing, and standardization.

    • Technical Skills

  • SAP experience along with intermediate SQL, MS Access, and Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
  • Business Analyst along with Data Analytics experience is a plus.

    • Soft Skills

  • Highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
