Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor company‑wide safety and health policies to ensure they comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site and equipment inspections to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near‑misses, determine root causes, and write reports with recommendations for prevention.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs and seminars for employees and management to promote safe practices.
- Ensure that all safety and health practices are in accordance with company and government mandates.
- Implement programs and initiatives to actively promote safety and health within the organization.
- Plan and conduct regular emergency exercises to ensure all employees are aware of their roles and response procedures.
- Perform the duties of Safety and Health Officer as stipulated in Regulation 18 of the Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officers) Regulations 1997.
Required Skills and Qualities
Proficiency in safety auditing, inspection and identifying hazards.Well‑versed in creating emergency response plans tailored to various scenarios.Familiar with compliance with OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.In‑depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards and best practices.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.Attention to detail and the ability to enforce safety procedures and protocols.Willing to travel.Able to work independently and as part of a team, taking equal ownership of organizational facilities in other locations.Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.Willing to adapt changes and comfortable with the idea that roles can evolve.Required Qualifications
Certified by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) as a registered Safety and Health Officer.A minimum Certificate or Diploma holder in Safety, Engineering, Environmental, or its equivalent in a Safety and Health field.Certified CePSWaM (Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management) is an advantage.3 to 5 years of experience in a safety‑related role.Seniority Level
