Engineering Manager

Overview

Engineering Manager role at MODEC Offshore Production Systems (OFS Malaysia). Based in KL Eco City, Malaysia. Drive FPSO projects from Proposal, FEED to Design to completion. Manage schedules and budgets, solve cross-functional challenges, and build strong partnerships with clients and suppliers. Champion safety and quality while driving continuous improvement and team performance.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Management : deliver Marine engineering and design within budget, schedule and quality.
• Leadership : provide leadership and cultivate a high-performance engineering organization delivering consistent FPSO design.
• Setup of all Engineering & Design Systems & Management of Change : establish a robust engineering execution platform for detailed engineering delivery meeting all contractual requirements; implement engineering change management across disciplines including communication, tracking and stakeholder approvals.
• Compliance & Communication : ensure compliance with Company standards, Client Standards, Class Society rules, regulatory requirements, Codes and Standards and company code of conduct; conduct internal engineering meetings with subcontractors, clients and external agencies, and prepare minutes and progress reports.
• People Management And Engineering Budget : motivate the engineering and subcontractor teams, provide performance feedback, forecast and manage engineering resources; develop manning plan, budget for engineering software, third-party studies, and approve related variation orders.
• Engineering Resources And Problem Solving : lead forecasting, mobilization / demobilization of engineering resources; develop solutions to complex problems and interface with clients on problem solving.
• Health, Safety & Quality & Engineering Reviews : ensure integration of Safety and Quality requirements in design; act as engineering representative for quality issues or NCRs from system audits; conduct and close out engineering reviews in a timely manner.
• Decision Making And Engineering Knowledge : make timely engineering decisions based on sound practice and project objectives; be familiar with interfaces across disciplines and their sequencing.
• Dispute Resolution & Risk Assessment : provide leadership in resolving disputes among stakeholders; lead project risk assessment and ensure close out of actions.
• Lessons Learned & Continuous Improvement : contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives; subcontractor management.
• Subcontractor Management : manage one or more Engineering Subcontractors on the project including cost, quality and schedule performance.
