Our client is a reputable company in the global service hub - manufacturing supporting financial, legal, and administrative operations worldwide. In order to support the company’s expansion and continuous improvement, our client is looking for a talented and dynamic professional to join them as Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Oversee compliance with statutory and regional requirements, including accounting, taxation, audits, and secretarial matters. Coordinate with external providers to ensure the timely submission of audited financial statements, tax filings, annual returns, and other mandatory documentation.
- Prepare and submit VAT and withholding tax (WHT) reports to the relevant authorities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory deadlines.
- Collaborate with sub-ledger teams, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Treasury, and Inventory, to ensure efficient operations and resolve entity-specific issues.
- Manage month-end financial close processes, including preparing and posting journals for various transactions such as accruals, prepayments, provisions, fixed asset depreciation, tax computations, cash management, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Review and analyze post-close reports, including balance sheet reconciliations (via Blackline), financial reporting submissions (e.g., COGNOS, MR packs, 10K reports), and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support process enhancement initiatives by working with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Contribute to ongoing finance projects, including system implementations and stakeholder engagement, while maintaining alignment with organizational objectives.
- Participate in activities related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, ensuring adherence to internal control standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
At least more than 3 years working experience in Finance / accounting with at least 2-3 years exposure on full set accounting for reasonably sized companies.Experience and knowledge in regional finance environment will be an added advantage.Audit experience in Big 4 Audit firms will be an added advantage.Proficiency in Excel, Word, ERP systems (knowledge of Oracle / COGNOS is an added advantage)Strong financial, analytical, accounting, written & verbal communication skills.Accounting degree / financial qualifications (CPA / ACCA).Finalist in ACCA / professional exams will be considered if commensurate with strong skill set / working experience.Reporting To
