Job description

SUMMARY

We are looking for fast-readers and do-ers with a strong attention to detail. We transport cargo every day to over >

100 stations across Asia on behalf of our customers, and coordinate with many Cargo Terminal Operators (CTOs). We rely heavily on CTOs and ground handlers to ensure we can maximize our ability to sell and transport cargo. Responsibilities include handling administrative, office, and customs-related paperwork, acting as a runner to release trucks at the customs bay, and endorsing paperwork. The key liaison person with RMCD, other government agencies, 3PL partners, and cargo terminal operators when needed. Organization and systematic archiving of documents are essential for easy access and data retrieval particularly for custom queries.

A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to :

  • To complete customs entries in an accurate and timely manner, checking all relevant documents and delivering a service that meets TELEPORT standards.
  • To submit customs declarations to RMCD using simplified, summary and standard procedures, ensuring strict compliance to current statutory procedures.
  • To forward the customs release messages to the internal departments team and other representatives.
  • To build relationships and rapport with new and existing customers and communicate effectively with authorities such as : Internal & External of Teleport Commerce Teams, RMCD, Cargo Terminals, Key business partners, Suppliers / Transporters, Other business support agencies, MAHB
  • To complete data administration and validation, scanning and filing supporting documents.
  • To be the first response to all enquiries regarding Customs Declarations.
  • Complete any other documentation that may become relevant over time.
  • Create and maintain accurate, relevant, and up to date information relating to all interactions and business changes.
  • To carry out other duties commensurate with the role and role grade as required and directed from time to time.
  • Coordinates with Principal, Fleet Team, Operations Team and CS Team on the Shipments status.
  • Provide support to staff and clients whenever required.

SKILLS

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role :

  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to speak English fluently
  • Able to operate computer programmes such as Microsoft Office, Google sheet, ALDEC, Digital TRADE PLOTFORM (DTP), One teleport / Teleport Dashboard, Mypayment / WebCor
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, technologies, and processes
  • Proactively takes action
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • A team player
  • Meticulous with work - double checking for accuracy of data entry
