About the role

Mewah Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Shipping to join our dynamic team in Pulau Indah, Selangor. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in managing the shipping and logistical operations for our manufacturing and import / export business. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading company in the manufacturing, transport and logistics industry.

What you'll be doing

Oversee and coordinate the shipping and delivery of goods from our manufacturing facilities to customers both locally and internationally
Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs authorities to ensure smooth and timely clearance of shipments
Monitor and track shipments, providing regular updates to stakeholders on delivery status
Prepare shipping documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant import / export regulations
Analyse shipping data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Provide guidance and support to the shipping team, helping to develop their skills and knowledge
Collaborate with other departments, such as production and procurement, to optimise logistics operations

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years of experience in a shipping or logistics management role, preferably within the manufacturing or import / export industry

Strong knowledge of international shipping processes, customs procedures, and relevant regulations

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Proficient in the use of shipping and logistics management software, as well as Microsoft Office suite

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders

Familiarity with Incoterms and experience in handling shipments to / from multiple countries

A relevant tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
