Overview
The Network Reliability Engineer (Data Network Specialist) will support internal consumers in defining optimal network solutions. You will lead and support the deployment of network infrastructure for Roche affiliates globally, with a focus on the APAC region. Our network connects over 100,000 users across more than 15,000 devices, using LAN, WAN, Wireless, and Data Center LAN technologies to support Roche’s corporate network.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a Data Network Management Services liaison to Roche affiliates (consumers).
- Implements data network solutions based on engineering standards.
- Supports and coordinates Roche affiliates network requests and changes.
- Coordinates engagement with Roche vendors and third-party suppliers. Collaborates with internal and external parties on projects, escalations and resolutions of problems.
- Drives innovation through cutting-edge technologies and supports our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent. 5+ years of experience as a network engineer supporting and implementing complex data networks (LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN).Professional network certification (CCNP) or equivalent; experience working with external vendors and service providers (telecom carriers).Strong understanding of global WAN / LAN and routing / switching protocols; working knowledge of security devices (firewalls, proxies, VPNs); knowledge of ITIL as a model for operations support.Fluency in English, written and spoken; additional language skills are an asset.Open to flexible working hours and occasional overtime. Ability to work and collaborate in virtual teams; comfortable communicating with stakeholders, vendors and colleagues across geographies.Details
