Position Summary

This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Legal Executive, located in Johor Bahru. The Legal Executive will be responsible for managing licensing projects, handling regulatory documentation, and ensuring corporate governance compliance. This role requires strong legal knowledge, the ability to work independently, and confidence in liaising with regulators and external stakeholders. It offers excellent exposure to complex legal and regulatory matters in a fast‑paced environment. The day‑to‑day tasks include drafting and reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and advising on legal issues related to the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Corporate Maintenance & Governance

  • Maintain legal and statutory records, registers, governance documents and database.
  • Coordinate with external service providers, regulators, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments, and provide proactive updates to management.

2. Licensing Support

  • Independently manage licensing projects from end to end, including preparation, submission, follow‑up with regulators, as well as the post‑licensing processes.
  • Track and manage licensing reporting calendars and compliance obligations.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on licensing requirements and regulatory processes.
  • 3. Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Organise and maintain Legal Department’s document repository.
  • Ensure systematic archiving of agreements and compliance documents.
  • Improve document accessibility and audit trail.
  • 4. Team Support

  • Provide research and legal support to the Legal Team.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining commercial agreements and internal policies.
  • Support cross‑department initiatives and ad‑hoc legal projects.
  • 5. Any other ad‑hoc duties assigned by the Superior from time to time.

    Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law and called to Malaysia Bar.
  • Minimum 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in legal or legal firm, corporate governance roles.
  • Strong research skills and ability to interpret complex legal, licensing and regulatory issues.
  • Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in cloud‑based file management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proactive and eager to learn about licensing and regulatory matters in a fast‑evolving industry.
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin.
